Cookies!

This Sunday is Amanda's annual cookie exchange. If you need details, pester Amanda. If you want to do some ride sharing, pester your closest lady.

Good deeds

Also, Michelle did a collection of items for the Open Shelter - a downtown day center that serves homeless men, women and children. We collected a whole bunch of hats, scarves, gloves, toothpaste, etc. Today, Ken from the Open Shelter came to the Foodbank and picked up the collection. His face lit up when he saw all the wonderful items we had for the folks they serve. With the temperature dropping, these items will definitely come in handy.

Michelle's Candle Making Extravaganza

December's activity was candle-making at Michelle's place. Michelle, Shari, D'ann, Amanda, Annie, and I were there. Our brand newest person was Anu. And we made a whole ton of pretty colored and prettily scented candles. I think we may have burned our sniffers out smelling all the amazing scents Annie brought over.

We ended the afternoon by making some massage oil. Lots of fun as always!

Claire's Diabolical Crafty Challenge

And it was diabolical - even though the rules were mostly made up as we went along. Creations such as lady-like orangutans, delicious dogs, and potent octopi were made.

(Please notice the frightening nipple tassles on the orangutan on the far left there).

(The grand final gallery).

(This poor octopus looks a wee bit Blair witchy to me).

(Rachel explains the weirdness of the bon appetit magazine cover to Sarah.)

(Many delicious dogs).
(The evening ended with a massive car creation).

Belated posting of Becki's October game night

It was grand fun! We rolled pigs! We played with kitties! We yelled about cards! We drank beer and tea (but not all at once)!

We had so much fun that we forgot to take many pictures! So this is all you get.

Schedule for future ladies nights

Here's the schedule for the next bunch of nights:

October - Becki
November - Claire
December - Michelle
January - Annie
February - Emi

If anyone wants to sign up for on beyong February, just say the word and we'll get it on the calendar. Remember that even though we have an official night each month that doesn't mean that you can't send out invites for other fun things the same month.

Shari's Fondue Extravaganza

It was a lotta fun at Shari's fondue party held at Michelle's lovely new apartment. We had cheese, chocolate and caramel fondues. And three brand new ladies came to join the fun - four if you count the littlest and darlingest lady Annette. And many many more pictures this time thanks to Emi grabbing up the camera after I had abandoned it in favor of my wine glass. See for yourselves:

Wine Night at the wine shop

How did I completely fail to post pictures from our night at the wine shop?

And why do I only have two pictures of that night? Hmmm...... It was fun though! (I lurve that picture of Michelle!)

Hey Ladies

I'm just curious if there's any lotion left for those of us who got called away to paint their parent's house by an incredible parent / husband guilt trip? I may be in the market!

Also, I'm pondering a fall naked lady party for more closet cleaning and wardrobe swapping. Is there any interest in having one in September. (Not an official LAC event, just a gathering of ladies and wine and clothes they'd like to swap.) Please let me know if you have any interest.

Sidetracked

Watch me take the LAC site and use it for my own nefarious reasons! Two things ladies!

1. Bday party. You're all invited.

I've waffled for long enough. We're having a party for my 29th birthday on August 9th. Its gonna be super casual. Come, bring beer, hang out, and maybe even burn stuff.

Details:Where? Our house.
When? - Uhhhh - anytime after 7pm is good
What do I bring? - beer or whatever it is you like to drink
Will there be cake? Ask Charro.

2. Craft show!
Amanda and I have been working with another friend on an alternative craft show to benefit her cousin. It'll be September 20th. Details here:

http://www.crafternoononhigh.com

So if you're crafty, sign up for booth. If you're a shopper, come and shop. There will be a raffle. And a bake sale! Anyone who can donate baked goods will be most appreciated. All raffle and bake sale proceeds and most of the registration fees are gonna benefit Hallie.

July Activity - Wine Tasting

Hi all!

It seems like a lot of our get togethers involve wine so I figured, why ruin a good thing? Our July activity is a wine tasting at The Wine Guy in Pickerington on Thursday, July 24. The tasting is from 5 - 9, so I thought the normal time of 7:00 should be good. Any time you can be there is great! For $15 , you will receive 4 glasses of Summer Reds as well as cheese and crackers. Of course, I am told the bistro has a great tapas menu so that is always an option as well.

Here is a link to the website: http://www.thewineguywineshop.com/

I hope you all can make it!

Amanda's Wine Tasting

On Saturday, a bunch of us (Michelle, Becki, Claire & the newest face - Sherry) headed down to Amanda's in Canal Winchester for our June activity. She made lunch and sangria for everyone to start.

Our official mascot for the day - Gremlin.

The original plan was for swimming at the amazing swimming pool near her place, but questionable weather made us decide on plan B - wine tasting at Slate Run Vineyard.

We drank lots of wine, ate some pretty spiffy cheeses, met people from South Dakota, and laughed a ridiculous amount. We even learned a little! And I think we are all desiring Amanda's recipes for those insanely good cheesecake muffins and sangria.

Thanks to Amanda for such a great event!

Club Charter

This was sent out in the beginning but it seemed a handy thing to have up here:

Here’s how it works:

We’ll meet once a month – the third Wednesday of each month at 7pm - a different place each month. Times and days can be shifted but this will be our base plan. Invites are open to all you of course as well as any girlfriends of your own who’d like to come along. The more the merrier!

Activities can be all sorts of things. We should keep any costs low whenever possible. Ideas for activities include wine tasting, pumpkin carving, bowling, board games, hiking, museum visits, crafting, painting, badminton, white elephant exchanges, cookie decorating, croquet, charity activities, card games, or anything else that sounds like fun. Of course, for activities like bowling, each person is responsible for paying for herself. Hostess is only responsible for organizing.

We’ll have a different hostess each month. It’ll be low stress – if you can’t make it, no big deal.

Oh, and there is only one rule: You're not an "official member" until you've hosted your first party.

We’re hoping it’ll be a great way to see friends more often and meet new people. What better time to start than in 2008?!

Hey ladies!

Michelle brought up the idea of having our very own website, and others seemed in agreement that it would be extra handy. This will be a great place to keep the ever-changing club calendar, a list of bdays that we've been too unorganized to keep track of, recipes that we've begged from members, pictures from events, and whatever other nonsense we like.

I *think* we can make the site private if we like. Right now, it is public but not linked from anywhere or searchable by any search engines so its pretty dang private right off the bat. I'm giving each and every one of you admin rights so you can post here too. And if blogging is beyond your comfort level, feel free to write stuff up and send it my way to post on here.

I think this'll be pretty handy for us.
